Introduction

This drill, IMPIT KIRI/KANAN, is used during marching to get you to avoid objects or obstacles on the ground. You may see variations of its spelling like ‘HIMPIT’ or ‘HEMPET’, but they mean the same thing.

Execution

This drill has no timing. Instead, all you need to do is to go left/right diagonally so that you don’t hit the object. Then, continue marching forward again. The drill is given on the right foot. If the object is on the left, the command would be IMPIT KANAN, so that you would move to the right to avoid the object, and vice-versa.

Conclusion

Honestly, this drill isn’t that tough (I took mere minutes to write the whole thing). Remember to keep marching and to always be aligned with the other members of your squad/contingent. Good luck!
